New Features and Changes Expected Rumors about the new iPhone 15 have started generating public interests. It has more screens, titanium bodies, and a USB-C. The iPhone 15 Pro series look like pretty big upgrades than all the other old phones.
Just like the iPhone 14, Apple is expected to continue to offer four iPhone models in the iPhone 15 lineup. This include, the full-size iPhone 15, the larger iPhone 15 Plus, and Pro versions of both phones with all new features.
Now, let’s begin with the new features of the new iPhone
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the iPhone 14 Pro’s “Dynamic Island” feature will be available on all iPhone 15 models, replace the “notch” cutout at the top of the screen with a raised cutout that grows and shrinks depending on what you’re doing with the phone.
All phones are also expected to receive the usual camera upgrades which includes enhanced lenses, and wider zoom ranges, and they will be the first iPhones to swap ports.
Apple’s proprietary lightning to take the standard and larger but more efficient USB port-C. Gurman also said that non-Pro iPhones will be upgraded to the A16 Bionic chip used in the 2022 iPhone 14 Pro.
The iPhone 14 generation was the first to use different chip generations in the iPhone Pro and non-Pro models, and it looks like the non-Pro models could become the next generation after Apple in the near future.
It has been reported that the new IPhone will see an upgrade in the prices. IPhone 14 prices increased compared to iPhone 13 outside the US, but Apple kept prices in the country (contrary to pre-launch rumors and analyst predictions).
Launched alongside iOS 17, a rather modest update that includes always-on smart display mode called Standby, a logging app, improved auto correct, and a few other features. Newer iPhones may include unique features that are not supported on older iPhone hardware.
This update doesn’t support 2017’s iPhone 8 or iPhone X, so if you’re still using Apple’s first full-screen iPhone, this year’s updates could be particularly compelling, this by far, the most important upgrade for iPhone Pro.
These phones will get a chip upgrade (if Apple’s naming convention is the A17 Bionic) that will make them “significantly faster”, although in recent years it’s been hard to notice an upgrade in speed.
These phones will also swap their aluminum frames for lighter and more durable titanium, a material Apple has been experimenting with since the PowerBook G4 titanium days in the early 2000s. IPhone Pro will benefit from a new manufacturing technology called “Low Pressure Injection Molding (LIPO),” a process used on recent Apple Watch models that will allow Apple to shrink the display bezel by a tenth of a millimeter, enlarging it to zero.
The new phones will have an internal redesign similar to last year’s non-Pro iPhone 14 models, making them easier to open and repair.
The “Action Button”, as discovered in some early iOS 17 betas, will replace the physical mute switch on the iPhone and can be customized by users to quickly launch apps or features (like the device’s focus or photo modes).
High refresh rate, OLED screen panel and third telephoto zoom as well as standard and wide-angle camera lenses, but some or all of these features will likely continue to differentiate between the base iPhone and the iPhone.
