A teenage boy was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates Court in Lagos after he was arrested and accused of stealing money from worth 340,00 Naira in a bank.
The Prosecuting Inspector, Peace Chukwudi of the Ajah Police Division stated in court that the 16-year-old boy committed the crime on February 19, 2020.
According to Chukwudi, the accused was caught by the security officials of the banking hall of the First City Monument Bank branch.
The boy whose name is yet to be identified pleaded guilty as he confessed entering the bank few minutes before 4pm during the rush hour.
He marched to the toilet and hid there until there was nobody left in the facility.
It was revealed that the accused ransacked the workers’ safe at about 2:30 am, found the sum of N340,000 and concealed it in his clothes
